Global Technology is Hiring an Account Manager - Automotive Near Sterling, MI

We are looking to add an experienced Account Manager for cast aluminum chassis components and engineered structural aluminum products.

Candidates must have experience with Aluminum Castings. Specific knowledge of knuckles, cross members, and chassis system are a plus.

The Account Manager represents the entire range of company related aluminum products and services to assigned customers; including quoting, material, technical, and testing; while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs the expectations are met by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to work with the European and Chinese technical teams to support the technical presentations.
  • Manages New Business Development (NBD) Structure local and global quotations from start to finish including, but not limited to: Executive approvals to proceed, value stream option evaluations, quote work plans to track progress, buildup of costing models, offers/breakdowns to the customer, and negotiations.
  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts. Generates new business opportunities. Remain knowledgeable of customer business strategy, assesses validity and relevance of opportunities to group and corporate strategies, appropriately communicates information and opportunities
  • Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
  • Establishes objectives, develops strategies, and ensures their implementation to achieve the goals of the company.
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts.
  • Proactively leads a company strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.
  • Manages global tracking of all NBD Structure quotations with the respective leads in each region, while reporting out the status on a consistent basis to the Executive team.
  • Aligns customer communications with policies, philosophy, structure, capabilities, business plans, and strategy.
  • Forecasts customer direction; market demand; competitor direction; MS' competitive position (i.e. capabilities, price, quality, penetration, market perception); and considers corporate and group strategy in the formulation of growth opportunities for both the assigned program and the customer.
  • Negotiates and manages piece price, tooling price, ED prototype price, validation price, customer cost reduction initiatives, and other contract imperatives for the program and develops customer wide strategies.
  • Must be affluent in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc

    • Manufacturing
    • Assembly
    • Quality
    • Testing
    • Program timing

Qualifications

  • Excellent Customer presence and analytical skills
  • Aluminum casting and machining for chassis related parts REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years' of proven success in client management
  • Familiarity with sales performance metrics
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
